Our People
Kay Worthington, EA, is the founder and owner of KW Accounting Solutions, a veteran-owned, woman-owned, and minority-owned virtual tax, and accounting firm. She dedicates her time to helping clients overcome their misfortunes and loves being able to witness someone start small and later reach limits they never thought they would reach. Kay and her team provide accounting, tax, and advisory solutions to individuals, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Kay is an Enrolled Agent, Certified QuickBooks® Pro Advisor, a registered tax preparer certified with the California Tax Education Council, and a Certified Tax Representation Consultant.
She has extensive experience in managing financial operations, bringing organizations to chaos, leading large teams, improving workflow and efficiency, and communicating clearly and effectively. Kay is passionate about sharing her skills and coaching others to reach success. Kay serves on the Board of Directors for the City of Sacramento-Sacramento Heritage, Inc.
She is also the Treasurer of a nonprofit organization that teaches personal growth, self-development, and world leadership. For the last 15 years, Kay has proudly served as a Combat Medic and Finance Specialist in the United States Army. She also held various accounting and management positions, such as a Controller for medical and dental practices, Chief of Accounting for a governmental supply chain agency, and Cost Analyst for a large natural resource seller and distributor. Kay earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Finance from the University of North Carolina. When she’s not working, Kay enjoys catching up on some of her favorite TV shows, including Umbrella Academy, The Big Bang Theory, and Nurse Ratched. She also enjoys hiking in Auburn or Mill Valley.
